Purpose: The Canadian Council is the co-ordinating body and licensing authority for the BBB system in Canada. It provides a national forum for Member Bureaus operating locally coast-to-coast to co-ordinate their programs and activities. The Canadian Council is funded by national corporate memberships and licence fees from the constituent Bureaus. The local Bureaus, independent non-profit organizations funded by the business community, provide consumer information and educational services, complaint resolution assistance, and promote self-regulation of the marketplace.
