Pacific Northwest Labour History Association Conference & 29th anniversary of Miners' Memorial Weekend

June 12, 2014 to June 15, 2014

The Cumberland Museum, Cumberland BC on Vancouver Island, is pleased to be co-hosting the 2014 Pacific Northwest Labour History Association (PNLHA) Conference in conjunction with the 29th anniversary of Miners’ Memorial Weekend, June 12-15 2014 which is an annual celebration of workers and their families and a call for a renewed commitment for safe workplaces, justice, and bread and roses for all. The event has become a much-anticipated gathering for those passionate about labour history and contemporary labour issues.

In addition to the workshops, panels and speakers that are part of the PNLHA Conference program, our 2014 event will feature a Thursday “Community Connect” arts event for early arrivals and the local community. Friday evening will feature our much-loved “Songs of the Workers” open stage. Saturday will include a pancake breakfast, graveyard ceremony, guided tours, and community supper with readings, guest speakers, live music, and more to wrap up the weekend.
