Can We Afford Ford More Years

January 30, 2014

What is the Class-Composition of Ford Nation?
What are the tasks of the left in 2014?
The Greater Toronto Workers’ Assembly welcomes you to a discussion about the future of municipal politics in Toronto. We will have a broad-ranging discussion that shifts the focus away from Mayor Ford’s personal failings and toward an analysis and critique of austerity policies, as well as the class dynamics that underpin Ford’s continuing popularity. We have invited organizers from the Socialist Project, OCAP, OPSEU, CUPE, the Social Planning Council, and the Communist Party of Canada to discuss what their goals are in the coming year. We hope that this discussion will foster ways of coordinating our activities in the fight against austerity, regardless of who the next mayor is.

Time: 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Venue: Beit Zatoun
Location: 612 Markham Street Toronto, ON
