Conference: The Tar Sands Come to Ontario - No Line 9!

November 17, 2012

Resistance, education and alternatives

A day of discussion and organizing for action to stop tar sands pipelines in Ontario. Join us for workshops, a panel discussion and a people's assembly.

Special guests will include
Art Sterritt from BC Coastal First Nations and experts on labour and environmental justice issues for more info: Bolivia climate justice@gmail.com

What is Line 9?
Enbridge's Line 9 pipeline could be pumping corrosive and toxic tar sands across Ontario soon. Line 9 cuts through Toronto, north of Finch. Tar sands in Line 9 would menace natural environments, violate indigenous land rights, and threaten our communities across the province. And exploitation of Canada’s tar sands escalates climate change, posing a deadly threat to all the world's peoples.

In conjunction with OPIRG Rebuilding Bridges, United Church Trinity-St.Paul, Common Frontiers, Latin American Caribbean Solidarity Network, Center for Social Justice, Environmental Justice Toronto, Toronto Bolivia Solidarity, Council of Canadians Toronto, and others.
