In the United States, it feels like all highways lead to towns and counties with the name of “Liberty”. At the heart of the film is a revealing road trip with pit stops in six of them in which we find a rich vein of characters grappling with issues that lie at the centre of how Americans define their freedoms in the 21st century. And as we see in these towns, liberty is always in jeopardy and conflict.
