St. Lawrence River Great Lakes basin: scoping the future

May 04, 2011 to May 05, 2011

The St. Lawrence River Institute of Environmental Sciences, in partnership with the Great Lakes Research Consortium and the Great River Center at Clarkson University, is pleased host its 18th annual international conference on the St. Lawrence River Great Lakes Ecosystem.
This year’s conference Chair is Dr. Greg Boyer, Executive Director of the Great Lakes Research Consortium. The conference will provide a forum from presentations that will help outline the St. Lawrence - Great Lakes research needs in support of efforts to establish a regional research network. The conference will also aim to build connections to communities and interested groups by providing a platform for discussion of St Lawrence River governance.
In addition, we anticipate interest in sessions focusing on the recovery efforts of the RAPs and long-term monitoring needs for the Cornwall RAP which is proposed for delisting or Area of Recovery status sometime in 2011.
The conference theme will highlight how communities, experts and stakeholders must be united in support of long term planning for effective change into the future.
