Anti-Oppression Training for Volunteers

October 02, 2010 to October 03, 2010

Anti-oppression and anti-transphobia trainings are for students and community members interested in volunteering at the Centre. The Centre provides you with this training, along with other more specific volunteer training. If you are a new volunteer, you must attend both training days (lunch will be provided).

After your training, you will be assigned a weekly volunteer shift of 2 hours (however, it can be shorter or longer if you wish). If you have a library shift (unless volunteering in the library is your primary focus), you may be assigned an extra shift of an hour when you will be helping to staff the library. We'll make sure your shift fits your schedule! During your shift, you will be working on one or some of the different areas you expressed interest in, usually in a group with others. You may, however, also choose to simply do a General Volunteer shift instead.
