Once a year, tens of thousands of participants gather in Nevada's Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. What Isn't Burning Man?
Burning Man isn't a "festival" as most people know them. There is no "main stage," and other than burning the Man on Saturday night, the Burning Man Project doesn't book and schedule any entertainment whatsoever. Instead, Burning Man is an entirely participant-driven event, and therein lies its novelty.
