6th Global Investigative Journalism Conference

April 22, 2010 to April 25, 2010

Like our brilliant colleagues in Lillehammer, we are aiming for a hundred panels, workshops, roundtables and plenary conferences. We are going to place a focus on the financial and economic crisis and some famous panelists, familiar with the obscure matter of hedge funds and tax havens, have already accepted to be amongst us in 2010.

The investigation in sport stories is also going to be a focus, as we will be just a few months from the football World Cup in South Africa. We are going to take advantage of the fact that major sport organisations have their headquarters in Switzerland, to focus our attention on this sometimes secretive world.

Finally, with many being based in Geneva, we will undoubtedly devote time and attention to international organisations, and namely in the most controversial investigative fields such as human rights and environment.

During this Conference, we are also going to dedicate more room to investigation in television and the net. In addition, as the crisis is hitting all of us very hard, we think it is going to be a must to offer state of the art panels devoted to new business models in investigative journalism, and a few panels to media executives, as many of us are becoming our own boss!
