Defeating Ford's agenda: Let's get organized!

June 26, 2018

A new political reality in Ontario under Doug Ford means we need new ways to fight back. How do we escalate our current struggles? How do we change our organizing strategies to address new threats? How can we build bridges between movements, and find accomplices in unlikely places?

We're inviting activists, community organizations, labour unions, progressive political parties, service agencies, and anyone interested in helping us create a roadmap for the fight back. There will be a moderated discussion between a few speakers, followed by time for discussion and strategizing for the audience.

Speakers:
- Deena Ladd (Coordinator, Workers' Action Centre, Fight for $15 & Fairness)
- John Clarke (OCAP Toronto)
- JP Hornick (OPSEU Local 556)
- Felicia Samuel (Elementary Teachers of Ontario Executive officer for TDSB Wards 6 & 21, former Ontario NDP candidate in Scarborough-Rouge Park)
- Tori Cress (Idle No More Ontario organizer, an Anishinaabekwe of Beausoleil First Nation)

Moderated by Syed Hussan (Migrant Workers Alliance for Change)

Free entrance, and some food provided. The event is at the Workers' Action Centre, 720 Spadina Ave, Suite 202. Wheelchair accessible.

Cant make it in person? The event will be livestreamed. Organize a viewing and strategizing party!
