Why Do We Strike?

March 14, 2018

Bargaining came down to the wire here at U of T just a few weeks ago, with CUPE 3902 securing a deal for TAs/CIs and averting a strike. At York, CUPE 3903 is mobilizing to strike in pursuit of a fair deal for workers. And at George Brown, OPSEU Local 556 are fresh off of an intense battle to protect their faculty.

What's going on? What is behind the education worker crises on campuses across the city and across the world? How are students implicated, and how can we show solidarity with these movements?

Join ASSU on March 14th for a panel discussion and Q&A to find out the answers to these questions and more with representatives from CUPE 3902, CUPE 3903, and OPSEU Local 556!
