Climate Justice & Indigenous Allyship

June 11, 2016

Indigenous people are on the front line of healing the Earth. Climate protection is an opportunity to learn from and work as allies with First Nations - a significant way we can right the harm visited on these communities by religious entities. This interfaith Climate Justice and Indigenous Allyship Forum will focus on the role that faith communities can play in supporting the just transition to Canada's clean energy future. How can faith communities work to change the Canadian narrative with respect to both energy and Indigenous rights? The two are inextricably linked.

Keynote speakers are Elder Myeengun Henry and Dr. Byron Williston. Panelists include John Dillon, Leah Gazan, Grand River Interfaith, Lindsay Gray, Melissa Ireland, Sheri Longboat, John Milloy, Dorothy Taylor, and Mardi Tindal.
