Launch: Affordable TTC

June 24, 2015

Lowering Fares is a Ticket to the City

The Fair Fare Coalition report, Affordable TTC: Ticket to the City is being released on Wednesday June 24. Based on discussions with low-income public transit users, it demonstrates that the existing fare structure is unaffordable for people who depend on it the most. It calls for dramatic reductions for fares for people on social assistance and living on low incomes.

TAKE ACTION

Come to our report launch and event 10.00am, Wednesday June 24th, at Nathan Phillips Square, City Hall, 100 Queen Street West. RSVP with Herman @ hermanrosenfeld@rogers.com.

This is important now because the City is debating and voting on a Poverty Reduction Strategy on June 30, and then on July. It's also important because the City will be introducing a plan to address the cost of fares for people on low incomes later in the year.

Both of these initiatives need to include our demands to reduce public transit fares that are too high for people on low incomes to use.

Time: 10.00am
Venue: Nathan Phillips Square, City Hall
Location: 100 Queen Street West Toronto, ON
