Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Challenges National Energy Board on Enbridge Line 9 Decision

What: Court Support Rally for Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Legal Appeal of NEB decision on Enbridge Line 9 pipeline

A rally to support the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation which will be in court to challenge the National Energy Board’s (NEB) approval of Enbridge’s Line 9 pipeline despite the lack of consultation with the community on the project. Line 9 is a 40 year-old pipeline which Enbridge has reversed in order to send tar sands diluted bitumen east for export.

Who: Hundreds of people from across Southwestern Ontario who support Indigenous Rights and the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation’s right to consultation and consent

Why: The Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, whose traditional territory Line 9 crosses, was not consulted on the project, as required by the Canadian Constitution
