Women Building Connections Gala Dinner

May 14, 2015

Celebrating Mother’s Day for Peace the Canadian Voice of Women for Peace (VOW) will hold a gala dinner, “Women Building Connections” on Thursday, May 14th, 6:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club. Five outstanding women, Jean Augustine, Kim Phuoc, Judy Rebick, Metta Spencer and Mary Wyn- Ashford, VOW’s new honorary board of directors, will be the guest speakers for the event.
In 1870 Julia Ward Howe offered her Mother’s Day Proclamation to the world. Her dream was the establishment of an international Mothers’ Day Festival dedicated to the cause of nonviolent resolution of conflict and international solidarity among all women.
For 55 years, VOW has advocated tirelessly for a world without war. We encourage women to exercise responsibility for the promotion of world peace and justice, through education of themselves and others to take an equal part in the democratic process of decision making; and to cooperate with women throughout the world to create the mutual respect and understanding necessary for the peaceful resolution of international conflict.
