Let's send a postcard to Crystia Freeland! In Honour of Berta Caceres

March 03, 2018

The Honduro-Canadian Solidarity community invites you to join our contingent during International Women's Day rally in Toronto. We will meet at 12:30 outside of OISE (252 Bloor Street West). Look for the #JusticeforBerta banner.

We will have hundreds of beautiful postcards that you can sign and send to Chrystia Freeland (Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs) to ask that Canada demand #JusticeforBerta, that Canada stop endorsing the corrupt Government of Juan Orlando Hernandez in Honduras and that Canada stand up for human rights before business interests in the region.

Join the #JusticeforBerta Movement in solidarity with the struggles for Mother’s Earth liberation.

Berta Caceres was a Lenca indigenous woman from Honduras, a mother of four, a daughter and a sister. On March 3, 2016, she was assassinated. By whom? By all those people, governments and militaries, corporations and investors whose greed and interests she lived, stood and fought against. She stood for the equal rights of all people; for mother earth, the fields, forests, air and water; and for all life forms on our planet.
