Women and Climate Change - A discussion with the Pembina Institute

January 18, 2017

We are launching our new Environmental Issues Discussion Series, and we are kicking things off with a conversation about one of the biggest environmental issues of them all – climate change.
Join us on January 18th for a workshop and discussion about gender, climate change, and the hidden connections between the two.

Julia-Maria Becker from the Pembina Institute will lead us in a discussion about climate change. We’ll cover a “Climate Change 101,” and talk about the current and projected impacts of climate change in Calgary and Southern Alberta.

After that, we’ll hear from members of the Women’s Centre team, who will talk about the “gender lens,” and how we can use it as a tool to understand the gendered impacts of environmental issues.

This free event is open to anyone who identifies as female. For more information or to RSVP, visit http://www.womenscentrecalgary.org/events/womenenvironment/ or email krystal (at) womenscentrecalgary.org
