Communications Training for Environmental Issues

November 17, 2014 to November 18, 2014

Solid scientific research pointing to the impacts of climate change, degraded water quality, habitat destruction and toxics have failed to mobilize sufficient public, government or corporate action to address these and a host of other environmental issues. As communicators, we are just not connecting. The Sustainability Network and the Canadian Environmental Grantmakers’ Network (CEGN) are hosting “Public Narrative 101 Workshop”. The workshop will be facilitated by Jim Hoggan, President of Hoggan and Associates, a strategic communications firm based in Vancouver.
Jim's presentation is drawn from the work of Marshall Ganz. A veteran American civil rights organizer, Ganz cut his teeth with Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers Movement and was the lead strategist behind Obama's winning election and re-election campaigns. He is a senior lecturer at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
