Vigil against the siege and continuing bombardment of Gaza

August 01, 2014

Today, August 1, Israel bombed Rafah. At least 40 Palestinians were killed. An ambulance was also hit by an Israeli air strike, killing the paramedic driving and wounding 7 passengers. This is the 13th ambulance struck by Israeli missiles and bombs in the last month. Israel further assaulted the Shujaiyya neighbourhood in eastern Gaza City, Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, and Khan Younis in the south.
The list of Palestinians killed in Gaza is now over 1500, with no end in sight. A "ceasefire" was declared and quickly broken within hours by Israel.
This is not a new playbook, just the most deadly in a long line of massacres and crimes against humanity, not to mention all animals (as witnessed by Alison Deger of Mondoweiss), and the land.
We still stand every Friday in front of the Israeli consulate building from 5-6 p.m. and will until Palestinians have freedom of movement, self-determination, the Right to Return, and full civil, human, and equal rights. Until Palestine is free. Join us.
Also note: Tonight at Beit Zatoun (see information in this calendar below) there will be a vigil and gathering from 6-10 p.m.
