Danger and Disability Narratives: Oral History and the Body at Work

Professor Arthur McIvor, co-founder and director of the Scottish Oral History Centre at the University of Strathclyde, will talk about his research on occupational health and safety, including ongoing work on the Second World War and on disability in the coalfields. Arthur McIvor is a social historian specialising in the history of work and occupation health in Britain. His new book, Working Lives: Work in Britain since 1945 (Palgrave Macmillan) was published in 2013.
