Revolutionizing Retail: Workers, Political Action, and Social Change
January 21, 2015
Retail is the largest employment sector in Canada, but most front-line retail jobs reflect the scourge of precarious work and involve low pay, insecurity, and disrespect. It is also currently the site of some of the most innovative and exciting worker organizing initiatives. Kendra Coulter, associate professor in the Centre for Labour Studies at Brock University, will discuss diverse strategies for improving retail work-lives and how retail is connected to broader visions of social justice.
The paperback edition of Kendra Coulter's book Revolutionizing Retail will be available for purchase.
