Abstract: CARO is an associaiton of professional visual artists in Ontario, but memebership is available to student artists, individual associates and institutional associates. CARO has a variety of publications such as its Artist-Public Gallery Agreement; introduction to copyright; CAR-FAC Recommended Minimum Exhibition Fee Schedule; Guideline for Professional Standards in the Organization of Juried Exhibitions; Ten Safety Rules for Artists and Craftspeople; and the CARO Bulletin.
Subjects which occupy CARO's attention include taxation, freedome of expression, artist-dealer relations copyright; public galleries. fees, contracts, inusrance, professional standards, commissions, competitions, studios, health hazards, grants and juries. Founded in 1968, it is affiliated with CARFAC, the national association of professional artists.
This organization has changed its name to the Canadian Artists' Representation/le Front des artistes canadiens (CARFAC).
