Sima Elizabeth Shefrin wanted to do something to contribute to peace in the Middle East. And she wanted to do something that would draw the world's eyes to a just peace for both Arab and Jew.

The event has prompted much discussion among these groups, says Dr. Miriam Garfinkle, one of the organizers.

"When people get together and learn about each other, they don't hate each other," she says. "All Palestinians want is a house, food and education for their kids. If we can cross that line and say we know that and we can work together, there will be much more good will. We all have common goals, desires and needs for our lives."

Each unique square in the quilt looks at the issue of peace from different perspective.
