Purpose: The CIPA/ACPI has 882 general members and 389 members in the articling, life and corporate categories. It represents the majority of insolvency practitioners and trustees in bankruptcy in Canada and awards the Chartered Insolvency Practitioner (CIP) designation. We are affiliated with the 8 provincial insolvency associations and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Commencing in September 1998, the Association and the Superintendent of Bankruptcy will jointly deliver the National Insolvency Qualification Program (NIQP) to educate and test all candidates for the CIP designation and a trustee's licence.
