Purpose: The Canadian Council for Refugees is an independent umbrella group representing 150 community organizations. The Council has a particular interest in refugee protection, refugee claimants, refugee selection overseas, international refugee movements, refugee women, family reunification, deportations, and settlement services for newcomers. Two national conferences are organized each year.
