Purpose: The Canadian Human Rights Commission administers the Canadian Human Rights Act which prohibits discrimination in employment and delivery of services on the basis of 11 grounds: race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, disability and pardoned conviction. The Commission investigates complaints and promotes public awareness of human rights in Canada. The Commission also monitors compliance with the Employment Equity Act.
