Abstract: The subtitle of this book is 'Everything you need to know to write, publish, promote and sell your own book', and with 420 pages it must at least come close to that billing. Topics include what subjects to choose and how to decide whether people want to read about it; business procedures; computers in publishing; design, production, and printing; and advertising and promotion, to which about two-thirds of the book is devoted. Also included is a glossary of publishing terms, and an extensive bibliography which would have been improved by some more extensive annotation. One of the more valuable features of the book is the publishing timetable which it includes; it ought to be studied by any organization which is planning to launch a book on its own.
Recommended, indeed probably essential, reading, for any organization that wants to become a publisher.
