Socialist Party of Canada

Over the years there have been several organizations named "Socialist Party of Canada." The original SPC was founded in 1904 and dissolved about 1925, although individual branches appear to have continued operating. Another was founded by Ernest Winch in B.C. in the late 1920s: it merged with the CCF in the 1930s.

And a third, founded in Winnipeg in 1931, remains in existence today: it is affiliated to the World Socialist Party U.S. and to the Socialist Party of Great Britain. This section of the Socialist History Project website is devoted to documents and reminiscences of the third Socialist Party of Canada, 1931-present.
