Workers United - Building Our Future

April 28, 2018

The United May Day Committee brings together volunteer community members representing diverse sectors with the purpose of organizing, planning and designing a cultural event to celebrate International Workers Day - May 1
The United May Day Committee keeps alive the tradition of International Workers' Day by organizing an indoor rally to complement the annual march on the streets of Toronto.

We bring together labour, political, and international speakers with a rich array of talented performers from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

This year's event, on Saturday, April 28th, is the eighth anniversary of our celebration at the Steelworkers Hall.
We are again offering a program with powerful, relevant speakers and outstanding entertainment.

Featured among the speakers will be John Clarke, long-time activist with the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, Sam Gindin, former Research Director of the Canadian Autoworkers Union, and Farah Malik, Member of the Ontario Committee of the Communist Party of Canada, and an activist with the Committee of Progressive Pakastani-Canadians.

Artists in this year's cultural program include the Korean percussion
ensemble Pichojune, and Juan Dino's Quartet.

Time: 6:45 PM - 11:45 PM (doors open at 6:00)
Venue: Steelworkers Hall
Location: 25 Cecil St. Toronto, ON
